.In this particular June 26, 2023, photograph extracted from the International Spaceport station, sunshine shines off the hassle-free waters of the Alabama Waterway in a sensation known as sunglint. When capturing Planet, astronauts typically make the most of sunglint's propensity to increase the contrast in between water areas and also surrounding land areas. In the 1960s, the Alabama River was repressed, producing Dannelly Tank (the big polishing area at facility left). Building and construction of the dam also increased water table upriver. This led to flooding at several points along the waterway. These flooded zones are actually traditional of floodplains-- the low, level regions instantly beside much larger rivers. In this photo, disaster area look like uneven, brilliant forms stretching far from the river, like at Gee's Bend (center bottom).Text Credit Rating: Justin Wilkinson.Graphic Credit Score: NASA/Woody Hoburg.
